About

In reference to William Morris’s essay published in 1885, "How We Live and How We Might Live". We believe that there is inherent beauty in work, and in what is produced. Based and ethically made in London, How We Live Now aims to reframe how we think of clothing. Clothing has become anthropomorphized. A skirt is not a skirt insofar as it becomes a character that is put on. It is a fetishism of "things" that transforms clothing into masks, and into abstract ideas of who one ought to be.Clothing is meant to be worn, to feel comfortable in, and to demand nothing of the wearer. And also to have a bit of fun with how we dress. Appreciate the labor needed to create a piece of clothing and consider its materiality. Come as you are and take what is needed.
